What is Co-Active Coaching?
It is the most deeply respectful, collaborative style of support that I have studied in all my years doing this work.
The Co-Active Model balances self-awareness, a keen agility with relationships, and courageous action to create an environment where individuals can be deeply fulfilled, connected to others and successful in what matters most.
The “Co” in Co-Active suggests relationship, connection, intimacy and collaboration. Thus, the “Co” in us is curious, listens deeply, hears nuance, holds space for others, intuits and nurtures.
The “Active” in Co-Active stands for power, direction, action and manifestation. So, the “Active” in us is courageous, has clarity and conviction, takes charge and achieves goals.
Co-activity is based on several premises:
- that you have your own answers and that the coach's role is to help you discover them
- that you are not a problem that needs fixing
- that transformation is a result of discovery and the coaching process provides the structure and safety to be really curious and honest about yourself ~ with yourself
A co-active coach is different from a friend because they are trained, have lots of tools and maybe most importantly, no agenda of their own, other than your big A agenda.
And different from a consultant or teacher because we make decisions together. No preaching or telling. We discover your answers together.
And then create accountability for you to make the changes you feel are most important.
Coaching keeps you moving forward courageously into your best life.
Please know that I am an extensively trained and certified coach and recognized by International Coaching Federation.
This is important as coaching is still the wild west in that anyone can hang out a shingle calling themselves a coach.
